January 2013 - starting with a bang.

January 2013 - starting with a bang.

After having a good 'zen-out' at 12pm on 12/12/12 to reboot our chakras (apparently!), we have exploded into 2013 full of energy, enthusiasm and general Panache hilarity. Sue is on course to become the UKs answer to Missy Franklin (tut tut if you didn't pay attention during the Olympics), Zarya remains a lean, mean, cycling machine and Jess is on track to becoming a bona fide gym bunny. All in all we are the fittest PR team this side of the North Downs and plan to keep this up until at least February.

The Panache office is happily buzzing away with several new projects on the go alongside our lovely family of clients. We barely have time for a G&T these days! We are very happy to be working with chocolate once again, this time in the decadent form of cocoa powder! Food Thoughts Cocoa is a luxurious baking and drinking cocoa, made with the finest cocoa beans in the land. It is rich and smooth in texture and 100% Fairtrade AND Organic - what could be better?

The Leatherhead Food Festival is the first of its kind in the Surrey Hills and is taking over the town centre on 5th & 6th April. It will be packed full of foodie fun, competitions, Masterclasses from our wonderful friend Valentina Harris, local restaurant sampling, chef shows, markets and more. We are thrilled to be working with such a great event that is so close to home! Speaking of which, we have been in talks with the fabulous (not to mentions felty) Fluff-a-torium in our own lovely Dorking. Hopefully we will soon be able to add knitting and yarn-dying to our ever-expanding repertoire.

Food still remains our first love and with the gorgeous new Sacla' website up and running we have found many of our evening meals inspired by their Italian delights and luckily we're never short of a jar of two of Pesto! We have also recently discovered that we ladies have been making some major mistakes when it comes to our man and his food. Veetee carried out a Valentine's Day survey to get to the bottom of how we like to 'fuel our man' and how we may be able to do so in a more effective way, if you know what we mean. Watch this space for all the best tips, tried and tested of course!

Sue is terribly excited to be able to put her years of dessert experience to good use after being asked to help judge The National Cake Awards in June. There are a few months for her to get some tasting practice in before she really can have her cake and eat it - watch out Mary Berry!

Finally Garofalo Pasta has released their videos of Sara Danesin at Salone del Gusto - THE slow food exhibition in Turin. Deliciously good!

All in all we have had a marvellous, albeit busy, start to the year and we're anticipating the next few months to be fun, fabulous and full of Panache!

An Awfully Posh Autumn!

Tom LockWow, what an incredibly exciting few weeks it has been for our 22 year old crackling fanatic, Tom Lock. After launching his Scorchingly Hot Chilli pork crackling only a couple of months ago, his fantastic line of Awfully Posh Snacks has been catapulted onto the 'free from' shelves of Waitrose - which is, funnily enough, where he used to work.

And with Tom's story being so amazing, it's no surprise that it didn't take long for BBC TV to snap him up! Awfully Posh featured on the BBC's South East Today programme with Tom himself being interviewed in none other than our new favourite store, Waitrose! A media frenzy followed and the calls came in thick and fast; The Grocer, The Mail on Sunday, several Waitrose magazines, The Press Association, and local news publications across Tom's home county of Kent - he was a man in demand.

We are so excited to have been able to play a small part in what is becoming a hugely successful brand & company - and all hugely deserved. Tom has put everything into Awfully Posh Snacks and we give him a hearty pat on the back and can't wait to see what the next year holds. WELL DONE!

Sensational summer for Panache PR

Phew - it's been hot!

Once we recovered from excessive bunting disorder for the Olympic cycling in Dorking we broke our own records launching Scorchingly Hot Chilli Pork Crackling from the Awfully Posh Snack Company. The man behind this wonderful stuff is Thomas Lock, only 23 and running a successful business after creating and selling his favourite snacks to his local pubs. Now stocked by Harvey Nicholls and Amazon they are selling like hot crackling!

Sacla' is continuing its amazing year of delicious new products with the launch of Squeezy Pesto Sauce . The delightful Dhruv Baker, Masterchef winner, presents a range of delicious recipes from a fantastic fish finger sandwich to a cracking Cioppino. Easy on the eye and easy to rustle up - you have to see these videos. This comes hot on the launch of their amazing new pasta and a re-launch of their award winning fresh range.

And speaking of videos, the Panache Productions team have been busy filming the Exeter Food Festival, the launch of the Delicious Magazine 'Save our Heritage Campaign' and some fantastic recipes from Masterchef finalist Sara Danesin for Garofalo Pasta which is going great guns in Ocado. A tiny video for Veetee DineIn Rice was viewed more than 150 000 times and featured the family behind this lovely company, Moni, Shobha and their son Rajiv rustling up one of their favourite dishes - egg fried rice. Our videos have discovered some lovely new stars - Rajiv Varma from Veetee who positively smoulders for the camera, Lizzie Kamenetzky, Food Editor at delicious. Magazine who whips up an Apple Dappy with a twinkle in her eye and Editor Karen Barnes who has one of those voices you just know should be on the National Health!

Valentina Harris is launching a new range of cookery courses in Calabria. She is busy with the food festivals in London and Italy and looking forward to launching her new book later this year.

Our handbags are still full of Beyond Dark, the little drops of chocolate deliciousness filled with antioxidants, and we are looking forward to launching their first new flavours in a couple of weeks. We know you cannot wait - this has to be the ideal stocking filler for Christmas, and yes we have done the festive season already.

We've launched a range of great books from Peter Sidwell's Simply Good Family Food ahead of his TV series in the autumn, and the Essential Camping Cookbook. We are about to launch The Three Sisters new Indian recipe book and also the new Weight Watchers mini series just in time for the big diet in January!

We are also quietly celebrating the end of a great year with Quiet Mark - a massive million pounds worth of coverage in the six months since launch - our best ever campaign. We are of course noisily celebrating our new client Veetee who have a fantastic new product to launch in the autumn.

Richard Hall looks after Panache PR with his business wisdom and positive glow. His book 'The secrets of success at work' is proving to be a festive 'must have' and has gone global since being re-launched this summer.

Our little business continues to grow and along with the PR machine that is Zarya Williams we have our bubbly account executive red-headed Jess who launches into social media every morning with an energy that seems almost unnatural!

We continue to lunch and laugh and love the world that is food and drink PR - and look forward to our busiest ever autumn, snuggled up with great recipes, brilliant books and a glass always half full.

Best Doughnut recipe in the World!

Jam doughnuts are the new cupcakes   Forget those too-thickly iced, girly cupcakes. According to delicious. magazine, the glossy food monthly, the new must-have sweet treat is Homer Simpson’s favourite – the doughnut. We’re not talking Krispy Creme, though. The doughnuts must be jammy, as per British tradition, and most important of all in these times of austerity, they must be homemade. The ‘best jam doughnuts in the world’ recipe from delicious. magazine has been taking the foodie Twittersphere by storm since it was leaked from next month’s September issue. Jam doughnuts are back in vogue because they are simple and cheap to make, yet wonderfully decadent. A sweet dough of flour, butter, eggs and yeast is transformed into pillows of warm deliciousness, filled with juicy raspberry jam and dusted with lip-smacking sugar. AND WE CAN LET YOU HAVE IT AHEAD OF PUBLICATION FOR TWO DAYS ONLY!  How exciting is that?!! Just click here to watch the magic unfold!
