Sunshine, Sacla’ and the Scouts!

The sun is out and we are feeling particularly punchy at Panache!

This week we launch Sacla’ pasta – available in Co-operative stores across the UK – our favourite is Penne Gigante, perfect with Sacla’ Tomato & Mascarpone Stir-in-sauce and it won’t be long before we talk about two amazing new sauces from the Pesto Pioneers – innovation Queen Clare Blampied, MD of Sacla’, is on a roll!

Beyond Dark – our deliciously delightful drops of chocolate heaven, full of adorable antioxidants are appearing everywhere and have become the Panache handbag staple – slipped in over a cup of tea they are a great talking point – chocolate that is good for you – is that better than being in love?!

The Quiet Mark is about to launch an amazing competition on its fabulous new one stop shop website – if you are buying anything for your home you have to pop by to see which machine is officially the quietest in the world. They have recently launched their first facebook page too – it has to be a good thing to become a friend of this fantastic initiative from the Noise Abatement Society.

We are excited! We are about to start working on the release of the Scout’s first cookbook – The Essential Camping Cookbook – as three happy campers Panache PR is positively pushing this as THE recipe book of the year, out just in time for Father’s Day!

It is the Harrogate Baby Fair at the weekend and Zarya and I will be seeing the amazing new range from CONCORD – the lightest ever baby car seat and the most expensive pushchair in the UK!

And the office smells adorable –we are using the ‘Jainnisa All day soothing hand balm’ to keep our busy hands soft and smelling sweet! Makes a change from border collie!!

Best Doughnut recipe in the World!

Jam doughnuts are the new cupcakes   Forget those too-thickly iced, girly cupcakes. According to delicious. magazine, the glossy food monthly, the new must-have sweet treat is Homer Simpson’s favourite – the doughnut. We’re not talking Krispy Creme, though. The doughnuts must be jammy, as per British tradition, and most important of all in these times of austerity, they must be homemade. The ‘best jam doughnuts in the world’ recipe from delicious. magazine has been taking the foodie Twittersphere by storm since it was leaked from next month’s September issue. Jam doughnuts are back in vogue because they are simple and cheap to make, yet wonderfully decadent. A sweet dough of flour, butter, eggs and yeast is transformed into pillows of warm deliciousness, filled with juicy raspberry jam and dusted with lip-smacking sugar. AND WE CAN LET YOU HAVE IT AHEAD OF PUBLICATION FOR TWO DAYS ONLY!  How exciting is that?!! Just click here to watch the magic unfold!

Burlesque, knobbly veg and posh potties!

Burlesque, knobbly veg and posh potties!

There is never a dull moment in PR. In the last week we have been to Taste Dublin with Sacla', in the torrential rain which did nothing to dampen the enthusiasm of the incredible Irish food bloggers and Journalists and then on to Taste London where again the damp evening failed to stop the bendy flame eating burlesque dancer from doing her thing!

This week I am trying to sell in a picture feature on odd shaped vegetables - a gift I would have thought for our Daily Mail readers? It is all part of a campaign by the National Trust and my lovely client Delicious Magazine to force the supermarkets to let us buy knobbly vegetables - saving money and waste and all with the same great taste.

My Carry Potty has been swept away with what began as a joke - a potty covered in Swarovsky crystals. As soon as it hit facebook the orders started coming in - despite the £700 price tag. Recesssion? What recession?

Aggie MacKenzie has been trying to persuade people not to let their furry friends sleep on their beds - apparently if you spray a mist of her probiotic multisurface cleaner over the bed it helps keep the bad bacteria at bay by smothering them with good guys - we assume the bed has to be empty!

My gorgeous new client Chris Spiller who runs My Fabulous Vodka is selling out at every fair he attends - and with Caralicious being the most delicious drink on the planet - a combination of vodka and caramel - he is looking forward to his best Christmas ever!

And this week it is off to Italy to celebrate Sacla', the Italian food people's 20th anniversary in the UK. It is 20 years since they introduced the UK to Pesto and this year they launch their first ever range of fresh Pesto, Pasta sauces and Pasta. It began with a press trip to Piedmont all those years ago, to show journalists the Basil fields and the Sacla' factory, and a bunch of great journalists are joining my ex BBC colleague Nik Wood for a trip to see the new factory line powered by the Italian sunshine and taste the fabulous new range in the place the family business began more than 70 years ago.

Eye to Eye media is celebrating its new magazine - Love Life - a great addition to the ever popular Waitrose publications, and Garofalo pasta is a key sponsor at this week's Cybermummy conference.

 Busy days!

Friday Food Club with Sacla'

I am so excited!

Sacla' the Italian food company is celebrating its 20th anniversary as the UK's Pesto Pioneer and is taking it's new fresh range right to the heart of the British kitchen.

Working with the underground food collective, The Friday Food Club, they have created a 5 course dinner using the breadth of the new fresh range and are showcasing the menu at a private dinner with the UK's most revered Food Bloggers.

Sacla are so confident in the new fresh range, recently launched in Selfridges and now available in Waitrose and Ocado that they are welcoming reviews from the countries sharpest foodies. Sacla are aware that Food Bloggers are shaping the meals that we prepare and eat in our homes, so what better way to showcase the new range....I will let you know just how gorgeous it is on Monday!

Feasting Festivities

January at Panache came to end with a mass of feasting, festivities and extreme busy-ness! Sacla’ is celebrating the launch of its fabulously exciting new range for 2011, Tuscan Dreams is celebrating another feature in Wedding ideas magazine, the Bickley restaurant in Chislehurst is celebrating its revamp and re-opening this week, Aggie MacKenzie is celebrating appearing as a cover girl on a major food magazine and being in Knitting magazine – so multi-talented!

The Healthy Food Guide publishes its teaser magazine this week within delicious. Magazine ready for its launch next month and the Three Indian Sisters are gearing up for a week of TV interviews and cooking when they come together in just over a week’s time. Lucas Hollweg from the Sunday Times teased us over a fabulous lunch with news of his about to be published cookbook, Phillip Lowery enthused about the excitement to come at this year’s Real Food Festival and the lovely Bruce, new food director at Harrods clapped his hands with delight at the store celebrating its Billion pound sales for the last year – what recession?! Concord is sending its Neo Carbon pushchair to the Beckhams, how can Victoria resist its £2500 gorgeousness? And Laura Santini, gorgeous Italian chef, wowed a table full of journalists at her father’s restaurant with her ‘food bling’ – little slivers of gold on platters of fabulous food from Sacla’. Not a bad start to the year, shame about the waistline!
